Overview

By submitting a camera to DigiCam Collective (“we”, “us”, “our”) for purchase, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined below. These terms apply to all customers who request a quote and send items to us for inspection and payment.

Getting a Quote

  • Customers must accurately enter the camera model and condition when requesting a quote.

  • Quotes are based solely on the information provided by the customer at the time of submission.

  • Quotes are non-binding until the item has been received, inspected, and approved by us.

Shipping Your Camera to Us

  • Once a quote is accepted, we will provide a pre-paid return shipping label.

  • The shipping label will be sent to the email address specified by the customer.

  • The pre-paid label includes insurance cover up to £150.

  • If a customer wishes to insure their parcel for more than £150, they may choose to send the camera using their own shipping method and label.

  • Customers must securely package the camera to prevent damage in transit.

  • DigiCam Collective is not responsible for damage caused by inadequate or improper packaging.

Recommended Packaging (Important)

To help ensure your camera arrives safely, we strongly recommend the following packaging standards:

  • Cameras should be shipped in a sturdy cardboard box designed for shipping.
    Do not use thin or unsuitable boxes (e.g. cereal boxes or similar), as these can easily collapse or become damaged in transit.

  • We do not recommend using polymailers to ship cameras.

  • The camera should be fully wrapped in bubble wrap to protect it from impact.

  • Any empty space inside the box should be filled with kraft paper, newspaper, or similar packing material to prevent movement.

  • Once sealed, no rattling or movement should be audible when the box is gently shaken.
    If it shakes, it breaks.

  • Where possible, please mark the parcel with “Fragile – Handle With Care” or use fragile tape.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in damage during transit, for which DigiCam Collective cannot accept responsibility.

Inspection & Condition Verification

  • Upon receipt, all cameras are tested and inspected to verify:

    • Functionality

    • Cosmetic condition

    • Accuracy of the description provided

    • Included accessories (if declared)

  • The inspection determines whether the item matches the condition originally specified.

If the Camera Matches the Described Condition

  • If the camera is found to be in the same condition as described, we will honour the quoted price in full.

  • Payment will be made within 1 working day where possible.

  • During busier periods, payment may take up to 3 working days.

Payment Method

  • Payment can be made to either:

    • A specified bank account, or

    • A PayPal account

  • The preferred payment method must be provided by the customer when requested.

  • DigiCam Collective is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect payment details supplied by the customer.

If the Camera Does Not Match the Described Condition

If the camera is found to be in a different or worse condition than stated:

  • We may issue a revised quote based on the actual condition.

  • The customer may:

    • Accept the revised quote, after which payment will be processed, or

    • Decline the revised quote.

If the revised quote is declined:

  • The camera can be returned to the customer.

  • The customer may be responsible for the return shipping cost.

Ownership & Legitimacy

By sending a camera to us, the customer confirms that:

  • They are the legal owner of the item or are authorised to sell it.

  • The item is not stolen, lost, or subject to any third-party claim.

  • DigiCam Collective reserves the right to refuse, retain, or report items where ownership is disputed or unlawful activity is suspected.

Risk & Responsibility

  • Cameras remain the customer’s responsibility until received by us.

  • Once received, responsibility transfers to DigiCam Collective during inspection and processing.

  • We are not liable for delays, loss, or damage caused by shipping carriers or circumstances beyond our control.

Cancellations

  • Customers may cancel the transaction before shipping the item without penalty.

  • Once the camera has been shipped, the inspection and return terms above will apply.
